Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy (blood collection) services for law enforcement, defense and prosecuting attorneys. DUI, 11550, DNA for paternity, sexual assault, or homicide cases. Strict attention to rules of evidence and chain of custody.
Taser Dart Removal
Initial assessment of level of consciousness and vital signs. Dart is removed in a medically approved manner, wound is assessed for swelling or bleeding, and dressed with a sterile dressing. Level of consciousness and vital signs are again assessed prior to the nurse’s departure. Patient is transferred to the hospital for assessment if irregularities in heart rate are noted.
Sexual Assault Response Team – SART
Pre-established examination sites, for conducting victim evidence collection examinations on adolescent, adult and child victims of sexual assault, are located at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland, Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Fontana, and Redlands Community Hospital. Non transferable patient examinations may be conducted at other hospital facilities. Certified Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners conduct photo documented forensic evidence collection examinations for law enforcement agencies. Strict attention to rules of evidence and chain of custody.
Evidence Collection
Evidence collection examinations on suspected victims of sexual homicide at the crime scene or morgue.
Who’s the daddy?
Blood or Buccal swab collections for private DNA paternity testing. Approved collection site for paternity DNA specimens for several laboratories including DNA Diagnostics.
